| Wow.. I always get so excited when people start to talk about travelling! I've lived in Saudi Arabia for a few years (was born there), Indonesia (14 years), Greece (5 months) and the Netherlands (nearly 5 years now). :alien: "I'm an alien... I'm a legal alien..." If I don't count the flight stop overs or coach/train passing overs (that would clearly be cheating :p)... Then I've traveled around: Indonesia, Singapore, England, Ireland, Italy, France, Germany, Czech Rep., Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, the Netherlands and Belgium. Places that I'd love to visit in the next 10 years: Spain, Croatia, Greek Islands (I was living and traveling only on the mainland), Poland, Hungary, Russia, Morocco, Egypt, the Nordic countries, Austria, Switzerland, South Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, the Philippines and Malaysia. Wondering why the America's and Australia aren't on the list? Well, the tickets are too expensive and I'm not really sure that I'm all that interested in going there. I might when there are open possibilities. My dream is to backpack around the UK and Ireland for a month during off-season like March or April (so that it's cheaper and less touristic). Hopefully this can happen in the near future, I'm still saving up for it. |

| Wow! That's some travel itinerary, Kitten. | Catherine Kitten wrote: | Places that I'd love to visit in the next 10 years: Spain, Croatia, Greek Islands (I was living and traveling only on the mainland), Poland, Hungary, Russia, Morocco, Egypt, the Nordic countries, Austria, Switzerland, South Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, the Philippines and Malaysia. |
In other words ... you're just a home girl at heart. Wouldn't it be easier here if you just listed the places in the world you don't want to visit. |

| well there are 193 countries in the world and in my post I only mentioned about a 1/10 of it (which I really want to visit in the next 10 years), so I guess listing the countries I don't want to visit is a little off the point... harrharr |

| Ha Ha - you could take it even further as far as the Greek Islands are concerned. Over 6000 known Greek islands ..... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_islands_of_GreeceAmongst those that I can remember that I have been to: Paros Ios Santorini Kos (took a day trip over to Turkey from there) Zakynthos Mykonos Skiathos (my favourite) A few other small islands also, the names of which I can't for the life of me remember. And this is the Greek island that the Beatles planned to buy way back in 1968. Yes, they actually went sailing around island shopping, trying to find the most suitable one, stopping off and trying out various islands along the way. They picked this one (Trinity Island) apparently because it is shaped like a guitar. They never did go through with it though - and their official reason was that they'd been there, done that, enjoyed the life for 6 or 8 weeks which was great, but now back in England they'd changed their minds. In actual fact, we were told whilst staying on a neighbouring island (forget which one it was called but you could see Trinity Island from there) that the Greek government and the inhabitants on the surrounding islands put a stop to their plans as they didn't want their harmonious life to be ruined by the chaos these "hippies" would bring to their beautiful surroundings. Good for them! They (the Beatles) apparently made quite a bit of money out of that "non-transaction" as the purchase money which they had ready to pay for the island had to be changed into some other international currency, so when the purchase fell through and by the time they had it changed back into Sterling the exchange rate had soared, so quite a tidy profit was made. |

| Thanks for putting the link (photo diary of your visit to Seoul) in the Shoutbox, Kitten! Great pics. I'm posting up the link HERE as well - as part of your Travel Diary, in case it gets lost in the Shoutbox as more messages come along. |
